Each year, students in the Art + Design program at Harford Community College are encouraged to submit their work to the annual juried exhibition. This year, the Chesapeake Gallery welcomes artist and educator, Christopher Batten, to take on the roll as the 2022 juror. Batten is a current faculty member at Bard High School Early College Baltimore and an adjunct professor at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
He states, “Overall, I chose works that I felt reflected the gamut of things we've had to reconcile with relative to the human condition over the past couple years of the Pandemic. The works selected address resilience, anxiety, acceptance, growth, mortality, escapism, and a host of other things.”
