Kirk Maynard Obscured Humanity

In this exhibition, Maynard looks at the hidden aspects of human social life and history, from immigration stories to lived experiences. Maynard’s portraits use symbolism, clothing, and body language to look deeply into his subject’s personal narratives and evoke emotion in the viewer. His work explores the political intricacies of culture and identity in America, challenging the viewer to contend with the complexities of cultural identity and inspire meaningful conversations around issues that affect all Americans.
